Postsecondary Internship Program
The Department of Commerce Postsecondary Internship Program (PIP) offers opportunities for college students to gain experiential training in their fields of academic study. Paid internships are offered for a 10-week summer session, and during the academic year. Interns hosted through this program are not Commerce employees, but are matched through arrangements with grantee organizations. The Department of Commerce utilizes this program to recruit intern candidates studying business, math, science and engineering, aligned with our targeted mission critical occupations.
The program administered through a partnership between the Department of Commerce and nonprofit and/or educational institutions of higher education and funded by cooperative agreements.
