Creation of the Department's Labor-Management Forum

On March 2, 2010, representatives of the Department of Commerce (Department) and of the Department’s bargaining unit employees met to discuss the initial process of implementing Executive Order (Order) 13522, Creating Labor-Management Forums to Improve Delivery of Government Services, December 9, 2009. The Executive Order calls for the formation of the Department’s Labor-Management Forum's (Forum) charter and the submission of an implementation plan to the National Council on Federal-Labor Management Relations. The mission of the Forum is to help identify problems and propose solutions to better serve the public and agency missions.

The Charter and minutes of the Forum’s meetings will be posted on the Forum web page under Commerce Employees as they become available. The Department’s plan to implement the Order (required by Section 3(b) of the Order) will be posted on the Forum web page once it is approved by the National Council on Federal Labor-Management Relations.
