Performance Management Consulting Center

The Office of Human Resources is pleased to announce the opening of the Performance Management Consulting Center on August 2, 2009. The Center, hosted by Michael Osver, the Department’s Program Manager for Performance Management and Recognition, will provide managers an opportunity to have a selected number of their performance plans reviewed by the Department’s senior expert on performance management. During each appointment, Mr. Osver will conduct a brief overview of the requirements for good performance plans and then conduct a diagnostic of as many performance plans as time permits with the goal of providing managers with options for improving both the results and the credible measures in each plan.

The performance plan review sessions will be held in person in HCHB Room 5014 or via teleconference, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from August 2 – November 30, 2009. Appointments may be scheduled for minimum of 1 hour up to a maximum of 2 hours per session per day.

In order to ensure the maximum benefit from these review sessions:

    • Each session is limited to a maximum of 2 managers.

    • Each session is highly interactive. During each plan review, Mr. Osver will ask managers to elaborate on their organizations and what type of work is crucial to document in a performance plan.

    • Managers must bring 2 copies of each performance plan they would like reviewed.

For teleconferences, managers should e-mail scanned copies of the plan(s) 24 hours in advance of their scheduled appointment.

    • The date you would like an appointment

    • The amount of time (1 or 2 hours)

    • Number of managers who will be attending

    • In the subject line insert the following: PMCC – Request for an Appointment
