2008 Federal Human Capital Survey

On August 1, 2008, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) will launch the 2008 Federal Human Capital Survey to approximately 450,000 randomly selected Federal Government employees. OPM has randomly selected approximately 8,200 Commerce employees to participate in the survey. The Federal Human Capital Survey is administered by OPM every two years to evaluate how well agencies are managing, developing, and leading their workforces.

If you receive an invitation to participate in the 2008 Federal Human Capital Survey via e-mail message from OPM, we strongly encourage your participation. Employee feedback will be used to assess the Department’s human capital management efforts in support of our diverse mission. Those employees who are randomly selected to participate will be notified directly by OPM in the next few days on the procedures for completing the survey.

Employees in the sample will be given a user identification and password to access the secured website. Please be assured that responses are voluntary and will be kept confidential. OPM will combine responses from Commerce employees in the sample with others from various agencies to ultimately publish the Federal Government-wide results.
