ELDP & ALDP Leadership Programs Briefing: August 5, 2008

On August 5, 2008, in the DOC HCHB Auditorium, the Office of Human Resources Management, Office of Training and Knowledge Management (OTKM) will host a briefing to discuss the start of the Executive Leadership Development Program (ELDP-5) and the Aspiring Leaders Development Program (ALDP-5) classes. The briefing is an opportunity to learn more about these programs and to ask questions about program requirements. The session is open to all DOC employees except PTO.

The ELDP is an 18-month competency-based leadership development program that is geared toward individuals at the GS-13 and GS-14 (and equivalent) levels. The program includes two weeks of core training in leadership and legislative/budget issues, self-assessments, developmental assignments, action-learning team projects, speaker events, a mentoring program, and other activities. Recruiting for the ELDP Class of 2010 will begin on August 25, 2008. For more information on the ELDP call Mike Cohen at 202-482-1750 or email Mcohen3@doc.gov.

The ALDP is a 12-month competency-based program for individuals at GS-7 to GS-12 (and equivalent) levels. The ALDP (which is composed of two participant tracks based on grade) includes core training, book discussions, shadow assignments, speaker events, team projects, a 45-day developmental assignment, and other group activities.
