Coming Soon - DOCHROC Grand Opening

The Office of the Secretary is pleased to announce the opening of the new Commerce Human Resources Operations Center, known as DOCHROC (“dock rock”). The new Center brings together in one location three servicing human resources offices formerly located throughout the Herbert C. Hoover Building. The Center is a one stop shop for employees and managers to get accurate, up-to-date guidance and assistance on a full range of human resources issues and concerns.

The Center will service more than 3,500 employees in the following bureaus:

  • Bureau of Economic Analysis
  • Bureau of Industry and Security
  • Economic Development Administration
  • International Trade Administration (except Foreign Service Employees and Domestic ITA field offices)
  • Minority Business Development Agency
  • National Telecommunications and Information Administration
  • Office of the Secretary

By consolidating a variety of human resources operations offices and streamlining many HR processes, the Department has assembled an innovative team focused on providing excellent customer service and reliable HR consulting expertise. Center team members are available to assist employees and managers in the following areas:

  • Payroll
  • Staffing, Recruitment, and Classification
  • Training and Knowledge Management
  • Executive Resources
  • Performance Management
  • Employee and Labor Relations
  • Awards
  • Benefits

The Center will open for business on Tuesday, May 27, 2008, and is located in HCHB Room 7412.
