The Department of Commerce is carrying out the provisions of Executive Order 13401: Responsibilities of Federal Departments and Agencies with Respect to Volunteer Community Service by recruiting, rallying, and recognizing employees for various volunteer community service activities.

Commerce employees continue to donate their time and talent to making a difference within the communities where they live and work. These volunteer community service efforts include: building marine habitats and sanctuaries; conducting food and clothing drives; tutoring and mentoring students; and feeding the homeless.
