Schedule of Holidays

Full-time employees are entitled to 10 paid holidays each year. For most employees, if the holiday is on a day that you are supposed to work, you get that day off with pay. If a holiday is on one of your scheduled days off, you get a replacement day off for the holiday.

Some employees who work in the Washington, DC area get an extra holiday every 4 years for the Presidential Inauguration. This holiday is usually on the January 20th following the presidential elections.

Also, occasionally the President signs an Executive Order giving employees an extra holiday - - this usually happens when the Christmas holiday falls near a weekend or to provide time off for a National day of mourning.
