Bureau of Economics Analysis: Produces and disseminates statistics such as gross domestic product (GDP), corporate profits, personal income by state, and trade statistics, such as the U.S. balance of payments.

Bureau of Industry and Security: Handles national export control programs on dual-use exports, and contributes to non-proliferation and anti-boycott efforts.

Bureau of the Census: Collects data of the Nation’s people and economy.

Economic Development Agency: Assists communities across the nation, generates new jobs, retains existing jobs, and stimulates industrial and commercial growth.

International Trade Administration: Promotes exports of manufactured goods, non-agricultural commodities and services, and is America’s principal facilitator of foreign trade.

Minority Business Development Agency: Helps to create economic independence by coordinating and monitoring minority business support in the private and public sectors.

National Institute of Standards and Technology: Promotes economic growth by working with industry to develop and apply technology, measurements, and standards in the fields of physical science, engineering, and computer science.

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration: Conducts research, collects data, and makes predictions about the environment.

National Telecommunications and Information Administration: Develops both domestic and international policy and programs on communications and information issues.

Office of the Inspector General: Detects and counters fraud and waste in all the offices and agencies of the DOC.

U.S. Patent and Trademark Office: Ensures that the U.S. intellectual property system promotes industrial and technological progress by administering patents and trademarks.

Office of the Secretary: Manages department-wide policies and administers services to ensure the operation of the Department.
